Visitor information Overview
History
The Teifi Valley Railway was originally built in the late 19th century to transport goods and passengers through the lush valleys of Wales. It played a crucial role in the local economy, connecting rural communities to larger towns. The railway was officially opened in 1872 and operated until the mid-20th century when it faced closure due to the rise of road transport.
In 1971, a dedicated group of railway enthusiasts revived the line, and today it operates as a heritage railway, offering visitors a glimpse into the past. The railway features vintage steam locomotives and beautifully restored carriages, making it a perfect outing for families and history buffs alike.
